As I sit down to write this message, the temperature is dropping and the ground is covered in a winter blanket of snow. Each year at this time, I like to reflect back on the past twelve months and look to the year ahead. 2020 promises to be filled with many wonderful opportunities for families.
In the New Year, we will be introducing Café Franco, a networking opportunity for the French community to get together for a coffee and meet new friends. In the Spring, we’ll be celebrating the Month of the Military Child by having a day of crafts, face painting and tattoos, an art expo and more. April is also the month of the Children’s Thrift Sale, where families can buy and sell gently used toys and clothing.
Moving into the Summer, the iCanBike program will once again teach children with special needs to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Learning to ride a bike is a life changing experience and the iCanBike program will be doing it again in 2020. This program has positively affected the lives of almost 120 children over the past four years.
We look forward to showing you our upcoming programs and services as they become available.
On behalf of myself, the KMFRC Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, we send you our best wishes for the Holidays with family and friends.
Kind regards,
Colleen Fairholme
KMFRC Executive Director
