A Message from LCol Durant, Acting Base Commander

As we enter the final full month of summer, I feel optimistic about the new composition of the Defence Team as this annual posting season wraps up. The leadership across Base Kingston is exemplary, and I’m looking forward to seeing what new achievements will be realised over the next year.

With many units in the midst of their busiest leave period, I’d like to remind everyone to take the necessary time to disconnect and recharge during their time off. Practice self-care by taking time for yourself and spending time with your loved ones. This way, we can all return to work refreshed and ready to take on the upcoming fall season.

On the topic of self-care, I would be remiss not to mention the importance of maintaining good mental health. If you feel that you are struggling, please reach out to the resources available on base. Our mental health practitioners and padres take the well-being of CFB Kingston members very seriously and are here to help. Further, if you notice that your peer may need help, lend them a helping hand and point them in the right direction.

Congratulations to all members with recent promotions and awards, and welcome to the new team!
