This activity is a wonderful opportunity to meet individuals who are going through an absence which includes pre-deployment, deployment and reintegration. The deployment can be due to training, exercise and short- or long-term absences. It will give families the chance to connect with others by sharing experiences through past and current absences to gain peer support in the community.
For July and August, we will be changing the locations to outdoors. The dates for both months are July 10th and August 14th. In July, we will be meeting at Lake Ontario Park where the children can play at the park or use the splash pad. In August, we will be taking a relaxing hike at Lemoine Point Conversation Area to explore the surrounding wildlife that lives there. At each activity, you will meet the Navigational Support Team where they will share what is happening at the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) and the Kingston Community.
If you are seeking one-on-one support with one of our Military Family Navigators, let whoever is facilitating the activity know that you are interested, and they will connect you. Please register through the KMFRC website for July and for August for the upcoming Absence Support & Connections meetings.
