Have you heard about KMFRC Family Paint Nights? Facilitated by the Coordinator for our Child and Youth Development team (including Special Needs Inclusion and Parent Support), with French language support by our Child Development Worker, these have become popular events in the CFB Kingston community. Past participants have raved about the opportunity for family-centred learning and fun, being led by engaging and friendly instructors, and having all materials provided. We’ve shared a few photos below, with permission from the artists. Be sure to keep an eye out for similar events in the future!
Whether your family has lived in Kingston for a while, or was recently posted here, you may be interested in local children’s art programs that are available this month. Here are a few examples:
- The last two sessions of Kids’ Corner Art Programming at Love Kingston Marketplace will take place Tuesday, August 3rd and Friday, August 6th: https://www.kingstongrand.ca/education/events/love-kingston-marketplace-kids-corner-arts-programming. - Arts in August Summer Camp with the Tett will offer biweekly virtual programming for children/youth aged 8-13. Details about cost, registration and the art media to be explored can be found at https://www.tettcentre.org/events/arts-at-the-tett.
- Summer Sculptors includes three weekly, virtual art sessions for children aged 9-12 (take-home kits will be distributed from the Isabel Turner branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library). For more information, visit https://calendar.kfpl.ca/event/5015803.
