Welcome back! I hope that you had a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. The New Year will certainly bring new challenges and new opportunities for all of us, and I look forward to working with you on these in the months to come.
Garrison Kingston has launched a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CFB.BFC.Kingston/, which I invite you to visit. At its heart Garrison Kingston is its people, both those in uniform and public servants. We want to highlight the great work being done by you and the work being done by the broader Defence community. To support this effort I am asking members of Defence Team to submit photos of the work and training done at Kingston. Please send a photo with a short caption to Canadianforcesbasekingston@gmail.com. We want to be able to showcase the amazing work being done here.
The 11th annual Bell Let’s Talk Day falls on January 28th and invites all Canadians to join the world’s biggest conversation about mental health. Looking after our mental health is every bit as important as looking after our physical health. The last year was uniquely challenging, and many of those challenges will continue into this year. If you think you require support in dealing with these or other challenges please consider the resources listed below.
Visit the Employee Assistance Program (for public servants and their families) or Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program (for military only) if you need help. The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre also has programs to help military members and their families.
Visit https://letstalk.bell.ca/en/ for more information.
I wish everyone the best for the upcoming year. Whatever challenges and new opportunities lie ahead I trust that the Garrison Kingston will, as a team, be ready for them.
