Imagine… You and your colleagues prepare to go out for lunch on a beautiful summer day, while a Critical Incident* is happening nearby.
- How will you be alerted if there is an active aggressor on the Base?
- How will you get updates as the situation evolves?
- What about a hostage situation?
- A suspicious package?
- A bomb threat?
Emergency responses MUST be fast to ensure safety and to respond to threats
CFB Kingston is introducing a web-based Mass Notification System (MNS) to better inform base personnel in the event of a critical incident. It will allow the Chain of Command to quickly notify personnel across a wide geographic area using official and personal devices.
Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) contact information will automatically be uploaded, including DWAN email and issued mobile numbers.
YOU:
- Must create a password
- Visit https://www.getrave.ca/login/cfbkingston.
- Enter your forces address (first.last@forces.gc.ca) and leave the password field blank.
- You will then receive an email to update your password.
- Are encouraged to register your personal device(s)
This will increase the likelihood you will receive critical alerts quickly. If you do not have an issued mobile device, CFB Kingston can only notify you by DWAN email.
The system shall NOT be used for routine administrative announcements
The MNS will be used for:
- Time critical, urgent notifications to CFB Kingston personnel,
- Base-wide recall of personnel for Base Auxiliary Security Force (BASF) activation,
- MNS testing and administration,
- Notifications as directed by CFB Kingston BComd, and
- Future growth for Unit/Section recall/call outs, or other messaging as deemed necessary by BComd.
* Please see Ref B, below, for more information on Critical Incidents.
