Are you a certified coach or an avid sports enthusiast with coaching training? The PSP Kingston Sports is looking for coaches to lead our Garrison teams to competition.
The Canadian Armed Forces Sports Office (CAFSO) is starting the process of instituting minimum qualifications for Coaches supporting the CAF Sport programs. The minimum qualification will increase our coach’s knowledge and allow them to enhance their overall abilities to lead and guide others through Sport. Athletes will see an increase in their athletic development and enjoyment; which will have a significant impact on the overall quality of the CAF Sports Program.
CAF coaches are asked to commit to coaching their team to Regional and National competitions as well as any training required. One of the initial partnerships that we intend to join is the Responsible Coaching Movement. It is an initiative by the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Centre of Ethics in Sport. This movement is for National Sport Organization’s, Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations and Clubs/Community Sport Organization’s.
PSP Kingston Sports is looking for Coaches for the following Teams:
Fall/Winter Sports
- Men’s/Women’s/Old Timers Hockey
- Basketball
- Men’s/Women’s Volleyball
Spring/Summer Sports
- Ball Hockey
- Men’s/Women’s Slo-Pitch
- Men’s/Women’s Soccer
Why Become a Coach? Becoming a certified CAF coach is an exciting process that begins your journey into a rewarding and challenging field. It is important to emphasize that some of the best coaches have not been elite athletes themselves, but have developed strengths in key areas such as motivation and communication with athletes, and demonstrating leadership through exemplary behaviors on and off the playing field. Canadian Armed Forces serving members and full-time staff of the Non-Public Funds are eligible to become coaches in our Garrison sports program.
