Members of the Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment will be holding a Freedom of the City parade in downtown Kingston, on June 8, 2024, between 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Approximately 100 Canadian Armed Forces members and 8 military vehicles will be part of the parade. The parade will also be supported by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft flying as low as 500 feet over Kingston City Hall including a CH-146 Griffon and a CH-147 Chinook.

This parade marks the 110th anniversary of the Regiment’s lineage, tracing back to the establishment of the 1st Canadian Divisional Signal Company in 1914, during Canada’s response to the call to war. The Freedom of the City is a significant honor, reflecting the respect, affection, and esteem the community holds for the unit.

Following the parade, the Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment will host a public community event in Confederation Park from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event will include complimentary food (while supplies last) and various static and dynamic military displays featuring vehicles and communication equipment.
