Cannonball Crush 2018 : Military teams complete 5k obstacle course

On Friday 8 June, 21 Military teams and individuals completed the fun, fast paced obstacle course Cannonball Crush. Teams and individuals had to complete 12 obstacles including a mud portion, large walls and varying degrees of terrain.  

Thank you to our sponsors VIA Rail Canada, James Braden Ford, Athletico Sports Physiotherapy and Powerade for supporting our Fitness and Sports section, and thank you to James Braden Ford and Powerade for supplying all competitors with Cliff Bars and Gatorade post run. A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers who helped to make this event happen; without your support Fitness and Sports events such as this would not be possible.

Congratulations goes out to all competitors for successfully completing the obstacle course. The top performing runners/teams are as follows:

Female 34 and under
1st place: Pte Fowler with a time of 29:33
2nd place: Cpl Gilbert with a time of 32: 45
3rd place: Ocdt Hplander with a time of 33:12

Male 34 and under
1st place: Lt Pare with a time of 20:38
2nd place: Capt Weatherby with a time of 23:25
3rd place: Ocdt Maalouf with a time of 24:13

Female 35 and over
1st place: MCpl Vasiliou with a time of 31:21
2nd place: PO2  Either with a time of 35:09
3rd place: Capt Martin with a time of 35:10

Male 35 and over
1st place: Sgt Barnett with a time of 23:25
2nd place: MWO Basson with a time of 27:39
3rd place: WO Thiverige with a time of 28:45

Team Rankings
1st place: Team 1 from 1ESU with a combined average of 26:49
2nd place: LSS with a combined average of 28:42
3rd place: CFJSR Support SQ with a combined average of 28:47

As the first place team, Team 1 from 1ESU had the opportunity to compete the Cannonball Crush course again on Saturday with the general public.
