In accordance with Defence Plan 2018 – 2023 and the CAF Diversity Strategy, there is a need for resources in support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and two-spirited (LGBTQ2+) CAF members. As such, CFB Kingston has established the CFB Kingston Agora (LGBTQ2+ support group). Participants include CFB Kingston civilian and military members of the LGBTQ2+ community, and LGBTQ2+ community allies. The CFB Kingston Agora offers a positive environment, opportunities for discussion and presentations, and advocacy on behalf of its members when needed. Together, we will work to ensure that our workplace is free of harassment and discrimination, and the CAF population is reflective of Canadian society.
Big thanks to the Base Commander and the Acting Base Chief Warrant Officer for participating on the last meeting, and participating on our cake cutting ceremony.
Our next meeting is scheduled for 1900 hrs Thursday 19 December at HMCS Cataraqui. Dress will be casual civilian attire, and refreshments will be served. Please note, there are no membership fees for the Agora. Hope to see you there.
