CFB Kingston and the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) were honoured by the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington United Way at their appreciation luncheon for our outstanding contribution to the community. The Base Commander, Col Lemyre, on this occasion, mentioned “the great commitment of the defence team, uniformed personnel of all ranks, and the base civilian employees, united to give back to the community. 2017 was a great campaign with $ 233,000 raised. Thanks to all the volunteers and donors.”
Col Bernier, Deputy Commandant, who spoke on behalf of RMC, attributed their success to “the outstanding effort and creativity of all our staff, faculty and students at the College. We are very proud to say that much of our success came from the generosity of our officer cadets, who are responsible for almost half of the approximate $ 65,000 we raised this year.”
Garrison Kingston was awarded the Limestone Achievement Award, and the Emerald Britton Smith Foundation Award.
RMC was awarded the Sandstone Achievement Award, the Sapphire Britton Smith Foundation Award, and a Most Improved Award.
