A recent enrollee in the Canadian Armed Forces, Avr Tabbakh takes advantage of any opportunity to gain experience while waiting for the next phase of trade training at the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE).
In December, Avr Tabbakh worked in a team of 20 CAF members to help prepare the extensive Information Technology infrastructure required for Exercise UNIFIED RESOLVE 21 (Ex UR21). The group included communication and information specialists and technicians from the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre, Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment, and CFSCE.
Ex UR21 is an important annual training event for the Canadian Army and has been tailored to ensure it can be run safely in a COVID-19 environment.
For example, Avr Tabbakh and his team significantly adapted the workstation setup to meet Public Health Measure requirements. To maintain spacing, some terminals were moved to an adjacent parking lot to be housed in a Headquarters Shelter System.
The Canadian Army’s largest Computer Assisted Exercise, Ex UR21 will be run from the Canadian Army Simulation Centre at CFB Kingston in late January 2021 and will have training audiences connect from Edmonton, Alberta and Valcartier, Quebec.
