The CFB Kingston Annual Garrison Kids Christmas party returned this year to the delight of the Kids Christmas Party Committee, volunteers and the over 1000 people who attended. The event was held outside this year to keep families safely distanced, but also to help bring the magic of Christmas alive. Tents were set up in the field where Lundy’s Lane school used to be. They were decorated with beautiful Christmas lights, trees and more! The inflatable forest was a hit with children and adults alike, and the hot chocolate served by the Camp Director of Camp Maple Leaf, April Young and her cheery Camp Maple Leaf Staff was a much-enjoyed addition to the event. This year’s clear stars of the show were Prancer and Dancer; the two live Reindeer; the beautiful horses pulling the wagon and of course Mr. Claus himself!
The Christmas party planning committee, made up of KMFRC and PSP staff, would like to thank Base Commander Col. Stephane Masson for his support in this magical endeavour. The committee would also like to thank Sgt. Corbett for all his help securing the tents and many other items needed to create our winter wonderland! We also wish to thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to help set-up, run and tear-down the event. Finally, thank you to the wonderful CAF families who came out to enjoy the day! We hope we were able to jumpstart the season and make your Christmas spirit Bright!
