The National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) has now wrapped up, and CFB Kingston would like to take a moment to thank the Kingston Defence Team for their generous contributions. This campaign is truly a team effort, and everyone who donated helped raise $187,312—making CFB Kingston the base or group that raised the most money in Ontario by a large margin, and the second highest total raised across Canada.
It was great to see the creativity of units as they came up with new methods to fundraise —especially in this year of global economic turmoil—and ensure that the base was able to give back to Kingston and the surrounding communities that our members come from. The results of this year’s campaign speak to how willing the members of CFB Kingston’s Defence Team are to give back to the communities that they’re a part of!
Events to raise money for the NDWCC included a pancake breakfast kickoff, Coffee with a Soldier at the Rose Abbey Starbucks, LSS Lumberjack Day, the NDWCC Dog Walk, and a Halloween dress up, to name a few.
Special recognition is due for 1 Engineering Support Unit and 1 Wing Headquarters, as they are the large and small unit that raised the most money on base, respectively. Working together as a Defence Team, we will continue to positively impact local lives through these contributions which will be dispersed by the United Way KFL&A.
If you have any After Action Points, or feedback on the NDWCC Campaign, please contact your unit’s NDWCC representative, Capt. Doyle, or Maj. Bird.
