Command Team Message – June 2023

With the warmer months right around the corner, please be reminded to stay safe when outdoors this summer; drink plenty of water, practice caution around water sports and activities and don’t forget the sunscreen! 

June is Pride Month – a time to celebrate the progress we have made and recognize the hardship that the 2SLGBTQI+ community has undergone and is still battling. Please take some time to join any CFB Kingston or local commemorations over the month of June. 

June is also National Indigenous History Month.

From June 4-10, Canadian Forces Base Kingston will participate in the Commuter Challenge with the city of Kingston. This event encourages active and sustainable transportation. Sign up as an individual or get your whole unit involved. Join PSP on 5 June from 0700-0830 at the CANEX parking lot. Learn more about the Commuter Challenge, how to sign up and you’ll even have a chance to win a $2,500 E-Bike provided byCFBKingston Eco Team!

On June 9th, the Cannonball Crush obstacle course race is returning to Fort Henry! Military personnel are welcome to register and compete in a 5km obstacle course race through the Fort and it’s grounds. Units are invited to form their teams with a minimum of four (4), maximum of ten (10) participants. The winning team will have the opportunity to compete for free on Saturday 10 June in the civilian event. 

Father’s Day – Sunday June 18th is Father’s Day, a time for us to celebrate dads, from cheering on, to the comforting, their support and dedication means the world.
