Communication is hard; and there are times when living the military lifestyle can make it even more difficult! Communication is also a key element to connecting with those important to us. In relationships, we often get to the point of knowing someone so well that we assume or anticipate their responses, needs and reactions. In doing this, we remove and leave out the opportunity for connection. By filling in the blanks ourselves, we don’t allow for the opportunity to hear their perspective or how they are feeling or thinking.
The KMFRC Mental Health & Wellness team is hosting a Couples Communication Workshop on May 24th from 5:30-7:30pm. At this workshop you will learn skills and tools to improve communication and increase understanding of wants and needs within your relationship!
The workshop will include creating your own “Healthy Relationship Wall”, reviewing communication styles, and learning new approaches to connecting with your partner! To register please contact mentalhealth@kmfrc.com
For this workshop, we do ask that both parties in the couple are able to attend.
We will be having a workshop about communication in relationships for those who can only attend as an individual in August 2023.
