News from the Garrison Curling Club: A look ahead at the 2018/19 Season

As the hot summer days begin to get get shorter it is time to start thinking about ways to stay active and help pass the cold winter months. While many of you have been out chasing a little white ball or enjoying family and friends at the cottage a small group of dedicated volunteers have been working with the staff at Garrison Golf and Curling Club to begin planning for the 2018/2019 curling season.

The Garrison Curling Club at CFB Kingston is a 4 sheet curling facility offering curling for members of the Canadian Forces and the Kingston community. We host Intersection curling, a daytime Senior curling league, various evening leagues, and a weekend junior program. New for this season will be a daytime Doubles league. Our membership consists of both experienced and new curlers and we have a group of volunteer instructors available to provide instruction and guidance.  There are also a number of bonspiels and member/guest events planned for the coming season. Ice rentals are available for team building exercises and other private or corporate events.

A registration and information night will be held at the club on September 21st from 18:00 to 20:00.

Free Learn to Curl sessions will be held from 18:30 to 21:00 on October 2, 3, and 4. All equipment is provided and instructors will be on hand. Please bring a clean pair of soft soled shoes and comfortable clothing if you would like to try curling.

League curling will begin October 9th and continues through the winter until April 18th.

So, have a look at your calendar and save some space for the activities that are being planned and help make our Garrison Curling Club activities a Rocking success!
