Continuous, meaningful employment for Military spouses is often a challenge. Frequent relocation means finding new jobs on a regular basis. Alternatively, many spouses are developing portable careers that allow them to remain “employed” wherever they are on the planet.
On November 21, the KMFRC in partnership with Women Mean Business Professional Network of Eastern Ontario, and IRON MOUNTAIN, presented Empowering Your Future, featuring keynote speaker Claudia Harvey, CEO and Co-Founder of Dig It Apparel Inc.®.
Claudia, along with being a successful business owner, is a small business consultant, an investor, philanthropist, and a writer with an expertise in key note speaking. Her wide breadth of knowledge covers everything from emotional success to business and financial success. She is all about inspiring and empowering others with her story and showing them how to nurture a business idea.
Claudia shared her successes as well as trials and tribulations of building Dig It Apparel Inc.®. She shared her experiences about being on Dragon’s Den and partnering with Kevin O’Leary, being a Mom of three and building a business, coming within $1,000 of bankruptcy, and starting her work day at 3:00 am. She shared a lifetime of experience and inspired the guests on their journey to fulfilling their dreams and working towards entrepreneurship.
