Family Day will be celebrated Monday, February 18th, in the midst of Feb Fest festivities here in Kingston. With plenty of activities for children and adults alike, it will be a great time to shake off winter blues and connect with family! Here’s a small sampling of events:
Saturday, February 16th:
• Families of all abilities are invited to join the Easter Seal Skate from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Springer Market Square. Wheelchairs are welcome!
• Visit the drop-in art program, Kids Creativity Club, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning. More information can be found at the Tett Centre website
• Family Storytime, for children and their caregivers, is offered from 10:30 am to 11:15 am at the Calvin Park and Isabel Turner branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.
• Between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, wagon rides will be offered downtown, departing from the Bank of Montréal.
• Spend the evening at Springer Market Square! Learn to Curl will be offered from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and DJ Skate Night will run from 8:00 pm to 10 pm
Sunday, February 17th:
Wander through downtown galleries from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for “An Artsy Afternoon”.
Monday, February 18th:
• Head to the free Open House at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for a wide variety of activities the whole family can enjoy: a family concert, yoga, colouring, balloons, face painting, pottery, liquid pouring art and more!
• Visit Springer Market Square from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm for a Family Fun Skate and marshmallow roasting, or to pick up beavertails between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm
• Wagon rides will be offered again from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with pick-up and drop-off at the Bank of Montréal.
• The Military Communications and Electronics Museum at 95 Craftsman Blvd. will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Current features include the Improbable Escape game and a Cipher/Decipher exhibit.
