The Holiday Season is rapidly approaching and so is this year’s Garrison Kids’ Holiday Party on Saturday, November 25, from 1300 to 1600. Once again, the holiday party will be hosted by the KMFRC (Kingston Military Family Resource Centre) in the Field House at the Kingston Military Community Sports Centre (KMCSC).
Great attractions await the entire family! Enjoy an outdoor horse and wagon ride and visit with Santa and his elf. Listen to live music to get in the Holiday swing and have fun taking family holiday pictures with Kingston Photo Booth. Why not get a glitter tattoo or enjoy making Christmas crafts? If that hasn’t exhausted your little ones, meet your favourite Frozen characters, participate in the indoor obstacle course, visit the hypoallergenic petting zoo or get a balloon animal made by the expert balloonist from Not-So-Amateur Kingston or grab a nice mug of hot chocolate at our Hot Chocolate Bar. A Children’s Soft Play Zone will also be available. A family fun filled afternoon is guaranteed.
In lieu of a standardized family gift, families will receive a chance to enter and win various exciting age-appropriate goodies at our Winter Wonderland Giveaway Table.
Please note that 30 minutes prior to the official event start time, doors for the event will already be opening for families who would benefit from a sensory reduced environment.
All activities are first come first served and entrance to the event is free.
The sign up for the event will start on November 1st on the event page at: https://cfmws.ca/kingston/events-activities/events/garrison-kids-holiday-party-2023
Like every year -because sharing is caring – everyone is invited to bring a non-perishable food item for the Partners in Mission Food Bank.
Volunteering at the Garrison Kids’ Holiday Party
Volunteering with the KMFRC provides an opportunity to build your CAF community and gain personal fulfilment. One of those volunteer opportunities is the Garrisons Kids Holiday Party held on Saturday November 25 at the KMCSC Field House (11 Navy Way).
To help make this family-fun filled event a success, volunteers are required to fill several shifts. Volunteers will help direct parents and kids to several age-appropriate activities, be involved in set up and decorating (Friday afternoon, November 24th) as well as take down inside the KMCSC Field House and assist with children’s indoor and outdoor activities (November 25th). Volunteer shifts are 3-6 hours in duration. University, College, and High school students are welcome.
To learn more about these and other volunteer opportunities call our Volunteer and Event Specialist at 613 -541-5010 x2250 or email volunteer@kmfrc.com.
