Holiday Message to our Volunteers

By Heather Kotelniski

’Tis the season of giving and being thankful. I was thinking about this in terms of the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre. The commitment of volunteers is seen daily, in all areas of the KMFRC: Creative Tuesdays, Coffee Connections, Book Club, Café Blah Blah, the Family Networks, and Welcome and Warm Line calls are all examples of high-quality, volunteer-facilitated programming that helps enrich the lives of military families at CFB Kingston.

I am continually impressed by the dedication of our volunteers. This past year has been busy, yet so rewarding! We have made some great strides within our volunteer program – professional development opportunities, and an ongoing recruitment campaign that has seen amazing diversity, new skills, and talent coming into the Centre.

Thank you for your service to the KMFRC! Your volunteer commitment helps us promote empowerment, while maintaining trust, quality, integrity, and respect.

During this holiday season, take time for families and friends. Stop, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. We are often so involved with our daily activities that we forget to enjoy that time!

On behalf of myself, my family, and the KMFRC, best wishes to all of you and your families, in this season and in the new year.

“Do all the good you can,
by all the means you can,
in all the ways you can,
in all the places you can,
at all the times you can,
to all the people you can,
as long as ever you can.” – John Wesley
