Join the ‘Caring Dads: Military Adaptation’ – Program

Great news for great dads! In January 2023 KMFRC is offering the Caring Dads: Military Adaptation program again. The free workshop, that is divided into 9 different sessions, is running on a weekly basis, starting January 25th and ending in April 2023. The program is running in English only.

‘Caring Dads: Military Adaptation’ is a group-based program that has been adapted at CFB Kingston for a military specific community. Goals of the program are to engage men in the process of reflecting on their fathering and to increase men’s awareness and application of child-centered fathering. Caring Dads: Military Adaptation is evidence-based and focuses on child centered parenting theory/practical teaching.

The program helps in developing an individualized family health and wellness plan and includes enhancing the relationship with the children’s mothers. A big benefit of the program is that it works to establish a network of Military peer dads for ongoing support in facing the unique family challenges as a CAF member.
