Every year the Atlas Institute for Veterans and Families host a Family Summit to discuss tools and resources related to Veteran and family mental health. This year the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre is hosting an In-Person Watch Party, where we will be screening the live event, and inviting our community to join us!
What is the Veteran Family Virtual Summit?
It is known that families are often the main support system for CAF members and veterans who face unique mental health challenges. This summit strives to empower families with essential information, tools, and resources to help support your family. It will explore topics such as understanding the relationship between grief and mental health, the intergenerational impact of chronic pain, nurturing intimacy and relationships, as well as addressing traumatic brain injuries and the impact on their families.
Why attend the Watch Party?
We know that the unique challenges that come with the military lifestyle can be isolating and overwhelming and have found that connection and validation can significantly help. We invite veterans and their family members to join our community at the KMFRC to attend the virtual summit and make new connections and spark conversations with others in similar situations.
When?
Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th from 11:00am to 4:30pm.
