Junior Wellness Day at the KMFRC: A Day of Fun, Creativity, and Mindfulness for Children   

The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) is excited to announce Junior Wellness Day, a full-day event dedicated to promoting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children aged 6 to 11. This special event will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the KMFRC gym. 

Designed to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment, Junior Wellness Day offers a variety of activities to inspire creativity, encourage mindfulness, and support healthy living.  

What to Expect:  

The event features a thoughtfully planned schedule packed with fun and meaningful activities, including:   

  1. Zumba Class: Start the day with high-energy movement to promote physical activity and boost energy levels.  
  1. Art Therapy: Encourage creative expression as a way to process emotions and develop self-awareness.  
  1. Dance Activities: Keep the energy flowing with interactive and engaging dance sessions.  
  1. Nutritious Lunch Break: A midday breaks to recharge and enjoy a healthy meal.  
  1. Buckets Time: Explore playful, interactive opportunities to foster teamwork and communication.  
  1. Story-time: Relax and unwind with engaging stories that capture imagination and inspire mindfulness.  
  1. Yoga Session: Wrap up the day with calming stretches and relaxation techniques to support mindfulness and well-being.  

Junior Wellness Day is more than just a day of fun—it is a unique opportunity for children to connect with peers, build confidence, and develop essential wellness skills. Each activity has been carefully selected to create a balance of movement, relaxation, and creativity, contributing to the holistic well-being of each participant.
