Kingston CANEX Gives Back

With support from our local Kingston CANEX, the KMFRC and PSP Kingston recognizes over 100 volunteers each year. These volunteers provide crucial support for our Base Clubs, educational programs, family activities, and special events throughout the Garrison. It is the annual contribution that CANEX makes to the ‘CANEX Gives Back Volunteer Recognition Program’ that makes this all possible. This program also allows the employees within these sections to work together, fostering a positive collaborative partnership under one mandate.

Did you know that the CANEX contributes 15% of proceeds from purchases of ‘Support Our Troops’ and ‘Soldier On’ merchandise and 10% from Military Kits to strengthen the Morale & Welfare of their CAF community? The store also offers exclusive perks like the ‘No Interest Credit Plan’, ‘CANEX Rewards’, and Price Matching, and funds a number of other grant programs as well.

If you wish to volunteer and make a difference within the Kingston Garrison, the KMFRC has programs and services designed to promote community development, as well as provide social and educational opportunities to enhance the health and well-being of the military community.

PSP Kingston staff welcome volunteers to assist in the planning, coordinating and executing of fitness, sports, recreation, and health and wellness programs, which support our Military members, Veterans, Defense Team and their families.

Volunteering also provides benefits on a personal level, like meeting new people, and gaining workplace experience. Your commitment as a volunteer does not have to be long-term. Even the smallest tasks can make a positive impact on our community and in the lives of the people who live there. Giving back to others is very rewarding and can boost mental and physical health, for both you and those you help.

If you have not been to the CANEX lately, you should stop in. The staff are incredible people and work at an outlet dedicated to giving generously to their CAF community.
