KMFR Workshop to Support Youth of Parents Who Have Experienced Trauma

The Kingston MFRC is pleased to offer the Youth of Parents who have Experienced Trauma (YPET) support program for young people between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age. This program will take place Wednesday evenings from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M for six weeks starting April 2, 2025.

YPET was originally initiated by the Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) program in response to the needs of military youth navigating life with a parent/guardian with an OSI. This is an educational program covering a range of topics around experiences and challenges youth may face and will provide information and strategies for self-care as well as skills for supporting their parent/guardian in a healthy supportive manner. Due to the nature of the program, our youth counsellor will be co-facilitating and will be available to offer clinical support if or when requested.  Registration will be required here: https://cfmws.ca/kingston/events-activities/activities/youth-of-parents-who-ve-experienced-trauma
