As the new academic year approaches, many children experience a mix of excitement and anxiety. While a little nervousness is normal, for some children, the transition can be overwhelming, leading to significant stress. This anxiety can manifest in various forms, from difficulty sleeping and stomach aches to headaches and a strong reluctance to attend school. Understanding and addressing these symptoms early on is crucial for a child’s emotional well-being and academic success.
On Wednesday, October 8th from 4pm to 6pm, the KMFRC Mental Health Team is hosting an essential workshop aimed at helping children aged 6 to 11 manage school-related anxiety. This workshop is designed not only to help children recognize and cope with their feelings but also to empower parents with the tools and knowledge they need to support their children effectively.
During the workshop, we will engage children in targeted activities that address the root causes of school anxiety and provide them with practical strategies to navigate the school year with greater ease and confidence. Additionally, parents will receive valuable resources, including take-home materials and video links, to further understand their children’s concerns and offer continued support at home.
This workshop is more than just an educational session—it’s a step towards creating a supportive community where children can thrive. By attending, parents and children alike will be better equipped to face the challenges of the new school year together.
