If you can believe it, it’s been six months since the COVID-19 outbreak. The new normal is settling in, just in time for Canada’s Healthy Workplace month. In October, we focus on the importance of healthy and safe workplaces.
But “healthy and safe” means more than wearing a mask. It means physical health. It means mental health. We need to look out for one another, and to look out for ourselves.

Health Promotion is providing webinars. Have a look at: https://www.cafconnection.ca/Kingston/Adults/Health/Health-Promotion/Health-Promotion-Webinars/Health-Promotion-Kingston-Webinars.aspx.
The Base gym is open for Phase 1A, military members only. However, it will be opened further as health and safety allow: https://www.cafconnection.ca/Kingston/Facilities/Base-Gym/Location-and-Hours.aspx. I encourage you all to exercise, however you can.

I know that returning to work full-time and managing school drop-offs, pick-ups, and all that’s needed to keep everyone safe is very challenging. We are all in this together, and we all need support. Reach out to your colleagues, perhaps they’ve thought of a life hack that could make things easier, or perhaps they could use your help, even just for moral support, to get through the day.
Finally, with the air getting colder, our communities need our support more than ever. 30 Sept marks the start of CFB Kingston’s 2020 Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) in support of the United Way of KFL&A.
In 2019 with our help, KFL&A provided services to over 59,000 of our neighbors and friends. While in the first four months of COVID-19 alone, over 42,000 local people sought and received services from United Way.
Our community needs us, and our donations make a difference. Get involved.
