On Friday, 28 June, 2019, Base Commander, Colonel Kirk Gallinger with PSP Manager, Frank Cleysen, officially opened Arrowhead Beach for the season with a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the grand opening of the brand new beach facility.
This facility features a new patio with tables and benches, as well as a new washroom and change room, free for use for Military members and Base Gym cardholders.
Following the ceremony, the Kick-Off party commenced with families enjoying activities such as swimming, kayaking, obstacle course, face painting, bubble-making, as well as lunch from Scoops food truck. There were also prize draws sponsored by 101 Things To Do With The Kids Media and free soccer balls provided by Subway Canada.
