Mark your calendar for September 22nd to join us at the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre at 32 Lundy’s Lane from 1pm to 4pm for the 7th edition of the Canadian Walk for Veterans.

True Patriot Love, that has recently become the lead organizer of the Canadian Walk for Veterans after a merger with One Veteran Society, is the nationwide patron of the event and Canadian Walk for Veterans. The CWFV will take pace in numerous cities across Canada this September and additionally offers a virtual participation option.

Like in past years, the Kingston Walk will involve the option to walk 2.3km – which brings you from the KMFRC to Fort Henry Hill- or 5km and includes walking up and down Fort Henry Hill and leads through the renowned Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada.

On-site registration and check-in will begin at 12pm. Join us in the walk and make a difference. You can walk as a family, in business teams or individually. All ages are welcome. Family dogs and support animals are welcome. To participate, please register at: https://truepatriotlove.akaraisin.com/ui/CWFV/t/Kingston

The day’s festivities will include dignitary guest speakers, face painting by Not So Amateur Amateurs, live music by Music Healing Veterans, a free BBQ, the PWOR Piper, the RCL 560 Colour Party, Barrack the Bear, and of course walking shoulder to shoulder with your fellow Canadians.

Much of the event’s proceeds will support us at the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) as a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the resilience and stability of military families. We support all military families, including those in the Veteran Family Program.

Everyone who registers for the Canadian Walk for Veterans will receive the special Challenge Coin. Challenge coins are a staple of military life, made to mark significant milestones, or simply as souvenirs. This year’s design symbolizes the power of adaptive sport in the lives of injured or ill service people and Veterans – a focus of True Patriot Love’s support of rehabilitation and recovery programs across Canada and of the 2025 Invictus Games. The coins are designed and manufactured by Sharkz Coins, a Canadian company co-owned by a retired Royal Canadian Navy officer. People registered will receive their coin either on the day of their walk or if walking virtually, it will be mailed directly to them in the fall of 2024.

To support the event, the KMFRC is also looking for volunteers in the community. Volunteers are needed to assist with event set up and takedown, participant registration, route check points volunteer, water station volunteer and directing traffic. If you are interested to volunteer at this event, please contact volunteer@kmfrc.com

We look forward to walking shoulder to shoulder with you on September 22nd.
