Second Language Training

Second Language Training is a service offered by the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) to CAF family members choosing to learn a second language due to relocation, professional goals, or personal interest. Available supports include free and fee-based options.

Are you a CAF family member who would like an opportunity to learn English or French? The KMFRC can suggest local and national services to help you reach your language learning goals.

Are you a CAF family member who is posted OUTCAN and would like to learn the language spoken in your new community? We can connect you with a national resource that offers self-directed learning.

If second language training is not your preference, however you would be interested in further developing your conversation skills in either French or English, please connect with the following Kingston community groups:

Café Franglish – this group is led by ACFOMI to practice conversations in both English and French. The link to register for upcoming events is  Café Franglish – Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario – Conseil régional des Mille-Îles (acfomi.ca)

Global Conversation – this group is through St. Lawrence College to meet new people to practice speaking English. The link for more details and information is Global Conversation Club – St Lawrence (stlawrencecollege.ca)
