The Children’s Thrift Sale committee and its dedicated team of volunteers are thrilled to announce the upcoming Spring Children’s Thrift Sale, taking place on April 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Thompson Drill Hall.
This community-driven event offers families the chance to shop for affordable children’s items while also providing vendors an opportunity to earn money back on gently used goods. With a $3.00 cash-only entrance fee, shoppers can browse a wide variety of items, including clothing, books, toys, outdoor gear, and much more.
Important Shopping Information
To ensure a smooth shopping experience, please note the following:
- Wheeled carts / wagons are not permitted at the sale to help with crowd flow and space limitations.
- When purchasing large items, please shop for, and purchase these first and bring them out to your vehicles. You will be permitted back into the hall to resume your shopping if needed. We do not have a storage area to hold these items while you shop.
- Both cash and card payments will be accepted (except for $3 entrance fee in cash).
- For large purchases: Please shop for and purchase large items first, then take them to your vehicle. You will be permitted to re-enter the hall to continue shopping if needed. There is no designated storage area for holding large items while you shop.
A Tradition Over 20 Years in the Making
The Children’s Thrift Sale (CTS) began over two decades ago in the basement of the KMFRC, when a group of military spouses, gathering over coffee while their children played, came up with the idea of giving back to their community. Their vision was to create a community thrift sale focused on gently used children’s clothing. As the event grew in popularity, it moved to its current home at Thompson Drill Hall on CFB Kingston, where it is now held twice a year.
Run by Volunteers, Powered by Community
The sale is organized over two days by a dedicated volunteer committee, many of whom have been involved since the very beginning. They are joined by dozens of community volunteers, whose efforts help make each sale a success. Many volunteers and vendors return year after year, drawn by both the sense of community and the unique volunteer perks, including:
- Discounted vendor registration
- Early access to a pre-shop experience
- The ability to retain their vendor number for future sales
