The Garrison Sports League: “New” Intersection Sports Program

With much excitement, the Military Sports Department at CFB Kingston is excited to introduce a new Intersection/Non-Public Property (NPP) Sports League.

Previously, to be eligible to join a team it was required that individuals were Military members (Regular Force or Class B/C Reserve). However, with this new initiative Military members as well as Public and Non-Public Fund (NPF) employees (Full-Time and Part-Time) who have a gym membership, or purchase a $25.00 Sports Card are now able to join various leagues.

Teams are to be comprised of predominately Military members, with Defence Team Employees supplementing the roster.  The concept is to allow our civilian Defence Team members who work alongside serving Military members the opportunity to play and continue to strengthen the bond outside of the workplace, through participation in sports.

The Sports Department at CFB Kingston is extremely excited about this new program, as the hope is that this will open the door for more participation (greater number of teams in the leagues), and the potential to offer more sports throughout the year.  For more information on the Garrison Sports League, please contact the Military Sports Coordinator: Erin Ferguson at local: 8758 or erin.ferguson3@forces.gc.ca
