Absences related to training, exercises, missions, taskings, work-related travel within Canada and overseas, or IR can be a challenging time for families. If you are experiencing an absence, or preparing for a loved one to be away, the KMFRC invites you to join our bi-weekly Virtual Deployment Coffee for peer support and community engagement. Virtual Deployment Coffee provides the opportunity for adults to connect with others also experiencing an absence from the comfort of your own home. From time-to-time Virtual Deployment Coffee includes guest speakers, and engaging activities such as guided yoga, self-care information sessions, and other activities.

The KMFRC also offers a monthly in-person Absence Support and Connections event for the entire circle of loved ones, including guided activities for children and youth.

In addition to virtual and in-person group setting supports, you can also connect one-on-one with a member of the Military Family Navigator team privately about your family’s own unique circumstances and talk about any questions or concerns you may have. We would also be happy to schedule check-in calls or meetings throughout all three stages of your loved one’s absence: pre-deployment, deployment & reintegration.

For more information and to register for the Virtual Deployment Coffee or Absence Support and Connections, or to connect with a Military Family Navigator, please call 613-541-5010 ext. 5195 or email kmfrc@kmfrc.com.
