This March 5th and 6th, the Veteran Family Program (VFP) is hosting another Mental Health First Aid training, and you should come.
In case you are not familiar, Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.
The MHFA Canada program aims to improve mental health literacy and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential of developing mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague.
The reality in today’s world is that we all know someone who is struggling with their mental health, and it just makes good sense that we are ALL armed with information, knowledge and tools to help when it’s needed most.
The VFP hosts 2 MHFA sessions each year, so if you can’t make it to this workshop, keep your eyes open for another offering this fall.
Prioritized seating is reserved for VFP eligible clients (medically releasing/released members and their families), however as spaces remain available, Regular & Reserve CAF, Civilian Staff, and the broader community are welcomed to register.
Note: These sessions of MHFA are geared to our CAF/Veteran community and discussions are tailored as such.
Dates: March 5th and 6th
