Thinking About Quitting?

Thinking About Quitting?

Are you a current tobacco user? Did you know that it is estimated smoking one pack of cigarettes a day for six months would equate to the price of an all-inclusive vacation? Did you know that an estimated 45,000 Canadians die each year from smoking?

As you invest your dollars to support your tobacco use have you considered that those very dollars could be invested into a life plan that may provide you with both financial and physical health gains? Is tobacco use worth the cost? Quitting could save you!

Quitting tobacco is not an easy feat, however the Canadian Armed Forces Butt Out Program, offered by Strengthening the Forces Health Promotion, provides tools, strategies, encouragement and support that can help achieve the goal of becoming tobacco-free. The program is offered in a self-managed and small group format.

The addiction and habit associated with tobacco use is brought to the forefront of the Butt Program. Medication is available to assist with the addiction to nicotine and problem solving techniques are utilized to help identify those reasons for using tobacco and assist with finding alternatives to tobacco.

Butt Out is the longest running Health Promotion Program in the Canadian Armed Forces and has been evaluated to assess the success rates of those who participated in the small group program. The evaluation found that 50% of participants were still tobacco free one year after the program.

Are you ready to invest into your future health plan and quit tobacco?

Successful participants of the Butt Out Group Program will have a chance to win over $250 in prizes!
