Veterans’ Week is 6-11 November

It’s time!

We’ve experienced unprecedented times over the last few years, and with the current upheaval in our world, we need to come together as a community now more than ever – to gather, honour, connect, celebrate, and share space and energy.

Over the course of Veterans’ Week (November 6th to 11th), we will nurture that sense of peace and community!

This year also marks 75 years of United Nations Peacekeeping Missions, and we are excited to invite you to join us as we commemorate this special milestone.

Check out our activities at the KMFRC!

We’d love for you to join in some or all these activities.

Nov 6th to 10th
Veterans Week

Pop into the KMFRC this week, at any point during our hours of operation, and visit the inspiring and informative booth in our front foyer. With activities for children and youth, origami crane-making kits, and information about topics such as remembrance and peacekeeping, we’ve got you covered.

Nov 8th
Coffee Connections: 10:00am – 12:00pm

This week, Coffee Connections participants will have an opportunity to share and connect while they paint a poppy and create a flower of memory on canvas. The finished paintings will be placed on display at the KMFRC during the month of November (given the participant’s permission). Registration is not required for this activity.

Nov 8th
The Gathering: 2:30pm-4:00pm

Please join us in celebrating 75 years of United Nations Peacekeeping missions. We will open our gathering by acknowledging the roots of our country, then hear wise words from a Peacekeeper, take a moment of reflection and honour, and most importantly connect while sharing time, great conversation and yummy treats.

Registration: Appreciated, though if you are able to make it last minute, please join us! https://cfmws.ca/kingston/events-activities/events/a-time-to-honour-75-years-of-united-nations-peacekeeping-missions

in support of activities and services delivered to military families. The night will honour the service men and women that protect our freedom and will remember those we lost while they were defending us. The Frontenacs will also be wearing their fan favourite CADPAT jerseys for the first time during the 2023-24 season as a sign of respect to Veterans and the military community.
