We live in an amazing city that combines a small town atmosphere with big city amenities. Whether you’re a foodie, love live theatre, or just want to breathe in some culture, it’s all here. The mixture of heritage and innovation makes it easy to find something for everyone.
When the KMFRC staff were asked what they like to do in Kingston, food was at the top of the list, but there’s lots more too. Check it out:
Alice
- Get an ice cream at Mia Gelato on Ontario Street and then have a walk in the marina

- We like to EAT! 🙂 Kingston has the highest number of restaurants per capita of any city in Canada, so you will never run out of food to try.
- We also really enjoy all of the parenting support that exists here – play groups, educational groups, support groups—there’s even a hiking group for parents and kids! You never run out of fun (free) activities to connect with others and entertain your kids.

- EAT! There are so many amazing restaurants in Kingston. Plus we have a ton of festivals that showcase food: poutine fest, rib fest, food trucks, you name it, you can eat it here.
- Also – ArtFest that happens on the Canada Day long weekend is a great, free activity for the whole family.

- Last year I liked dancing Salsa and Bachata at the Gazebo on King Street. I don’t dance anymore, but dancing at the Gazebo still happens.
- Walking down Princess Street after the stores have closed at 5:00 (any day of the week. LOL) and window shop in all the cool shops.
