Your Guide to the 2018 Garrison Family Fun Fest Event

Less than a week remains before the 5th annual Garrison Family Fun Fest event.  Here is your guide to this weekend’s activities:

10:00-5:00 PM

  • Midway and Military Displays and Demonstrations Open
  • 33 CF Health Services Teddy Bear Clinic – Sponsored by BMO
  • Sponsors Exhibits Open (Dome)
  • Guided Trolley Tours of RMC (Every 10 min starting at 10 a.m.  Note: The trolley will not be running between 1:15pm and 1:45pm)
  • BMX Demos (11 am and 2:45 pm)
  • Games to Go Mobile Video Game Theatre
  • Axe Throwing
  • Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo

  • Canadian Military Wives Choir Kingston (Event Tent)

12:00-1:30 PM

2:00-2:30 PM

  • OPP Golden Helmets Demonstration (Dome Parking Lot)

Sports Dome – 50,000 sq ft. facility featuring a Sponsorship Zone and a large kids’ activities and entertainment area.  Not-to-miss at 2:00 p.m.: the OPP Golden Helmets in the parking lot next to the Dome.

The Field House – Clubs, Exhibitors, Military Displays, Bouncy Castles, Axe Throwing, Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo and more!

SAM Gym – Bouncy castles and more!

Midway and Military Displays – Food and Drink,  Displays and Activities including Build-a-Birdhouse, Teddy Bear Clinic, BMX Demo, Games to Go Mobile Gaming Station and more.

Event Tent – Evening concert featuring Shaggy on Saturday September 8th. (For more information and tickets please visit the Concert Page).  Daytime concert on Sunday, September 9th at 2:30 pm featuring Steve Cheesman and the Heeters.

HMCS Cataraqui – Boat Displays, Boat rides and More!  Must be 10 years or older for boat rides.

PARKING

There will be parking available at McNaughton Parade Square; which is located on Apprentice Street located just off of Hwy #2.  This is free parking and space is limited.

There are FREE shuttles to the Base Gym and all of the activities.
Shuttle Bus Route: McNaughton Parade square to Base Gym
Saturday (Concert): 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Sunday (Event Day) From:  9 a.m. to 6 p.m

Kingston Transit will provide FREE transportation on all routes on the evening of the Fun Fest concert.  Just show your ticket when boarding!

To reach the event at the CFB Kingston Base Gym from the Downtown Transfer Point: Riders can board the Route 12 (CFB Kingston) or the Express 602.  After the concert, riders can return to the Downtown Transfer Point via Route 12 (Kingston Centre) or the Express 601.

To reach the event at the CFB Kingston Base Gym from the north end of Hwy 15: Riders can board the Express 601.  After the concert, riders can return to bus stops along Hwy 15 via the Express 602. Kingston Transit offers a free Park & Ride location on Innovation Drive.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

There will be a variety of food trucks on site offering many options including Gabriel Pizza, Popcurds, McDonalds and Smokin’ R&R’s as well as one BBQ point and two Nestlé ice cream stations.
Beverage options will include Coca-Cola, Moosehead and Pelee Island products.
