This is already the last month of the year! As the new Command Team, the last few months have been rewarding for us. We had the opportunity to meet and to engage with many of the members in Kingston, and we are really proud of the dedication, passion, and efforts that members at CFB Kingston are putting in. As you may be aware, we are listening and working hard to improve or change the ways we conduct business on Base. Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability are characteristics that define CAF members, and we are grateful to see these values in our members. We live in a world in constant evolution, and as CAF members, we have to accept changes that may impact our lives and the future. December is a time to reflect on the challenges, and achievements of the past year, but is also the festive season!

As we approach important religious and cultural celebrations, we wish everyone a joyful holiday season, filled with time for rest and connection. During this busy season, stress can arise from various sources like work, social commitments, overeating, or financial pressures. Self-care, including physical activity, is key. Don’t neglect exercise during this time of the year, as it is a great way to manage stress and boost your immune system. Even light activity can offer significant health benefits. Take the opportunity to spend time outdoors and explore all the wonderful sceneries that Canada offers. Spending time with your loved ones is also a good way to boost morale.

While the holiday season is a time of celebration for many, it’s important to remember that some of our teammates may be facing challenges, whether they are unable to be with their families or are deployed abroad. Let’s take care of one another during this time and uphold the esprit de corps that makes CAF members our greatest strength. If you or someone you know needs support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the various resources available – many of which are confidential. Even though the season is festive, remember the responsibilities and behavior expected of you as a CAF member, even when you’re not wearing your uniform.

Finally, we would like to wish you a wonderful holiday break and look forward to seeing you rested and reinvigorated in 2025!
