Employment Series Part 2: National Employment Services

woman-led-seminar

Continuing our little series on resources to find employment, this month we would like to focus on the National Employment Services available to military spouses/partners. Military spouses are fortunate to have two national employment services dedicated to their job search. Those services are the Military Spousal Employment Network and Military Spouse Employment Initiative.

Military Spousal Employment Network (MSEN)

MSEN offers support through employment search, educational events, and networking with employment partners. Employment opportunities shared on the MSEN highlight employers that understand the unique circumstance of the military family. MSEN services are only offered to military spouses or partners that meet the eligibility criteria; please see their website from more details.

Military Spouse Employment Initiative (MSEI)

MSEI connects military spouses with career opportunities in the federal Public Service. The MSEI compiles a list of employable military spouses that is accessible to Public Service Hiring Managers. This allows the hiring managers to review potential applicants for the roles they are seeking to fill. To register for the MSEI, please visit their website.

In conclusion, both the MSEN and MSEI provide valuable services for the partners of military members. If you are not a military spouse but you are interested in employment support, check back next month for information about navigating job boards.
