Family Networks

Purpose
To help Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families deal with the challenges associated with deployment, separation and relocation.

Who We Serve
CAF families. Family members include, but are not limited to: Regular and Reserve Force, and their spouses, partners, parents, children and relatives. They also include Non-Public Fund and the Department of National Defence civilian employees, their parents, spouses, children and relatives during a deployment with the Canadian Armed Forces to a mission area outside of Canada.

Services We Offer   

  • Quarterly professional development/ educational workshops
  • All volunteers receive Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), and Violence and Harassment training
  • Referrals to both Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) and community programming, including mental health services, national MFS initiatives including education and employment, child care, and upcoming Kingston and surrounding area events.
  • Social events to build family and community connections

Impact of Services  

  • Over 400 families were supported
  • Spouses built social networks and gained new contacts
  • Spouses were motivated to connect with the KMFRC, each other and the community
