Message from the Base Commander

Col Gallinger

I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year.  I hope you had a refreshing break.

January often means New Year’s resolutions.  For some, it marks a place to restart after a period of minor overindulgence.  Regardless of whether you want to hit new personal bests or just want to get back to where you were, CFB Kingston has programs and services to help you.

PSP Health Promotions has a multitude of ways to help you improve your health, fitness and well-being, ranging from lunchtime yoga to interpersonal communications training.  The latest Health Promotions program can be found at https://www.cafconnection.ca/Kingston/Adults/Health/Health-Promotion/Upcoming-Programs.aspx.  Health Promotion courses are FREE and are open to military personnel (Regular and Reserve Force), retired military personnel, AND their spouses.  Where space and resources allow, DND and NPF civilian employees are welcome to participate.  Our fitness class schedule can be found at https://www.cafconnection.ca/Kingston/Adults/Military-Personnel/Fitness/Fitness-Classes.aspx.  Ready to take your training to the next level?  Let DFIT.ca be your online personal trainer and nutrition resource.

Holiday overindulgence can also be financial.  SISIP Financial (https://www.sisip.com/en/) can help you plan out a better financial future.  They can help with creating budgets and saving plans, insurance and investment advice, and even emergency loans.  Be sure to visit the SISIP team located in the CANEX mall.  Another great resource that can help you achieve your financial goals is Canadian Defence Community Banking.  Take the time to educate yourself on the extensive BMO CDCB Program benefits that are exclusive to all members of the Canadian Defence Community and their families.

I encourage you to take advantage of the services available to you here at CFB Kingston.   Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2020.
