We hope that everyone has had a good start to the month of January and that you are ready to tackle the month of February. Daylight hours are getting longer, but temperatures can still drop and affect morale. That’s why it’s important to practice self-care and check in with your peers and teammates alike. Take advantage of all the resources available at CFB Kingston, such as the mental health walk-in clinic, the 10-week Military Dads Program offered at KMFRC, the various workshops and classes to improve your well-being and take your fitness to the next level offered at PSP Kingston. SISIP Financial Services also offers its services in Kingston.
February is Black History Month. We encourage all CFB Kingston members to learn more about Black History in Canada. Black soldiers, sailors, aviators and Defence Team Employees have contributed in invaluable ways to the capacity of the Defence Team. A diverse and inclusive Defence Team fosters trust and cohesion among our members and enhances the operational effectiveness and long-term success of the Canadian Armed Forces.
February also has Family Day in Ontario. As a CAF member, the support we receive from our family members is invaluable. On this special day, take time to enjoy quality time with your family. This could mean going out for an outdoor activity, staying cozy at home, or doing something special together to celebrate the day.
Let us continue to work together to create and maintain strong relationships both within and outside of our respective units. Although adapting to the complexities of the modern battlefield and future operating environments is challenging, we continue to be amazed by the efforts, hard work and dedication of the Kingston Defence teams.
