Highlighting Sergeant (Sgt) Shannon Boo

This week CFB Kingston is highlighting Sergeant (Sgt) Shannon Boot, a vehicle technician at Logistics Support Squadron, from Stratford Ontario. In her role, Sgt Boot is a supervisor of a maintenance workshop. Therefore, she oversees the priority of workflow for vehicles and equipment and manages personnel administration. Despite her busy schedule, Sgt Boot remains passionate about the work she does and the relationships she builds on a daily basis. Whether it’s helping with urgent repairs, sourcing parts, mentoring, or finding solutions to problems, she enjoys helping others.

In her free time, Sgt Boot enjoys woodworking, welding, furniture overhauls, and anything else she can do with her hands. In addition to being passionate about fitness, she also enjoys hockey, soccer, and volleyball. With her family, Sgt Boots likes to go hiking and paddleboarding.

With 20 years’ experience in the Canadian Armed Forces, Sgt Boot wants to let anyone thinking about joining know that the opportunities are endless. No matter how much experience you have, you are almost certain to get a job for 25 years regardless of your education. There is no doubt that the Canadian Armed Forces will be a career you can be proud of and one that gives you purpose and meaning.
